The only public price forecast
for the U.S. used-car market.
Every other forecast lives behind a dealer login. Ours is free to browse, updated weekly, and covers 1470 vehicle segments.
You buy on Tuesday, the market shifts by Friday. CarCast shows where the segment is heading — 10× cheaper than vAuto, no dealer login.
Not a VIN-level auction valuation — that's MMR. CarCast tells you where the segment is heading next.

How It Works
Three steps to smarter buying decisions
We collect real listing data daily
CarCast ingests median prices for 1470 vehicle models every day from live dealer inventory across the US.
AI forecasts where prices are heading
Our proprietary AI engine analyzes historical price patterns and generates 30-60 day forecasts with confidence intervals.
You see where prices are heading
Each vehicle gets a plain-English Rising / Stable / Softening trend classification, backed by data. Not a VIN-level auction valuation — that's MMR. CarCast tells you where the segment is heading next. Informational analytics only, not financial advice.
Intelligence Tools
More signal, less noise
Tools built for timing, not just tracking.
Price Trend Gauge
Every vehicle model gets a clear, instant trend classification: Strong Rising, Rising, Stable, Softening, or Strong Softening. No spreadsheets — just one gauge that summarizes where the AI projects listing prices to move. Built on the same forecasting model behind the 30 and 60-day outlooks.
See it live →Market Sentiment
CarCast scans thousands of real buyer and seller conversations across the web to gauge market sentiment for every vehicle model. Are buyers leaning up or down? Pair the crowd sentiment with the AI forecast for a more complete picture.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the data come from?
We aggregate pricing data from MarketCheck (dealer listings covering millions of active used cars across the U.S.) and public market indices including FRED regional CPI data. Data is refreshed weekly from live listings.
How accurate are the forecasts?
Our backtesting shows a mean absolute error of 3-5% on 30-day forecasts across our tracked vehicles. Accuracy varies by vehicle volatility — trucks and EVs tend to be more volatile than sedans.
Does this replace vAuto or Black Book?
No. vAuto and Black Book tell you where prices are today. CarCast tells you where prices are going. They're complementary — use CarCast for timing decisions, your existing tools for current valuations.
What's included in the free plan?
30-day forecasts on every tracked vehicle model, 20 API requests per day, community support. No credit card required to start. Upgrade to a paid plan (from $9/mo) for the full P10/P50/P90 confidence band, 60-day horizon, price alerts, and CSV export.
Can I use this for wholesale buying decisions?
Absolutely. Many of our users are wholesale buyers who use CarCast to time their auction purchases. The 30-60 day forecasts help you avoid buying into a declining market.
Do paid plans require a credit card?
Yes. Paid plans (Enthusiast, Trader, Dealer, and Agency) are billed through our secure Stripe and Apple Pay checkout, so a card is required to start. The free plan never needs a card, and every paid plan carries a 30-day refund.
